“Here at Loyola we recognize that keeping our patient’s spirits and mental outlook
positive is a big boost to their ability to recover quickly. We work closely with our
hospital dietetic team to produce great tasting meals that meet all the nutritional
requirements for balanced eating and at the same time make our patients smile a little more.
“It’s not just the food quality either; the very fact that they get to make some choices
makes a big difference in how they view our foodservice and that reflects positively on our
entire medical facility.
“Although the menu obviously changes based on seasonality and the availability of different
items, we try and offer our patients at least three hot entrée choices, two vegetable choices,
two starches and at least two dessert options.
“Based on our feedback questionnaires and comments that are passed along by the nursing staff
the menu program has been a big hit.”
