On menus or message boards: the benefits of unsaturated fats

Bring light to your healthier cooking techniques and menu items with a positive
message about unsaturated fats on menus or message boards.

  • In studies, replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats lowers LDL. 4
  • Make it easy for students to add healthier unsaturated fats to their diets
by offering crushed pecans and walnuts with yogurt parfaits made with
    Kellogg's® Low Fat Granola.

On the meal cards: tackling trans fats

If you’ve switched to oils or products that do not provide trans fat, let your
students know with a message on the back of meal cards. Tell them:

  • Trans fatty acids raise your LDL and are found in foods made with
    partially hydrogenated oils.6
  • Point out your product offerings that have 0 grams trans fat, such as
Kellogg's® Pop-Tarts® One Serving of Whole Grain toaster pastries.
